12 countries to take part at Iran’s 35th Fajr Int’l Festival

Films from 12 countries are to vie at the 35th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran.

Films from 12 countries have been scheduled to compete at the 35th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran.

The countries including China, Poland, France and Argentina, will compete in the international competition of the event, titled Cinema Salvation, in April 2017.

The festival organizers recently unveiled the poster of Cinema Salvation section of the 35th edition of Fajr International Film Festival which depicts a Simorgh.

Sometimes equated with other mythological birds such as a Griffin or Phoenix, Simorgh is the mythological Iranian bird that never dies.

The organizers announced that the countries to compete at the international competition section are China, Turkey, Colombia, Argentina, Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria, Russia, Mexico, Indonesia, France, Spain and Iran.

Established in 1982, Fajr International Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th International Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
